The name of my vase with flowers is LYCKA. It is the Swedish word for happiness, but also refers to a fenced meadow and of course, a display of flowers can make you happy.
The flowers are expertly crafted by hand, using free-blown techniques by the skilled glassblowers at Reijmyre Glassworks.
I have selected four distinct flower shapes for the arrangement; Bellflower, Sunball, Poppy and Cattail. The vase’s vivid surface has been created with air bubbles which gives the feeling of sparkling water. An everlasting bouquet of flowers.
LYCKA is part of TOGETHER - a collaborative project and exhibition celebrating the strength of Swedish Design, with focus on sustainability, quality materials and local production. A project initiated by Kadi Harjak owner of NK Interior at Nordiska Kompaniet and raising funds for a scholarship for an aspiring designer.
Participating designers: Lisa Hilland, Anki Gneib, Jonas Bohlin, Pia Wallén, Julie Amira, Monica Förster and Maxjenny.
