A modern mountain cabin designed for an active family, built to serve as a year-round retreat for generations to come.
The cabin is located in the region of Härjedalen in northwest Sweden, right on the Norwegian border, far from any city in either of the two countries. Here you live in and with nature.
The simple barnhouse structure provides generous spaces for socializing and togetherness, featuring high ceilings and expansive windows that frame views of the valley and the mountain range beyond. The layout includes several bedrooms, a loft, storage for equipment and sportswear, bathrooms, and a sauna, making it ideal for active family life.
Constructed with solid, rustic, and durable natural materials such as slate, pine, and spruce, the cabin reflects the surrounding environment. Its cross-laminated timber structure is visible inside, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere. The façade, with its framed gables and entrance, is clad in untreated heartwood pine that will age gracefully, turning a silvery grey under the Nordic weather.
